Say goodbye to the Black Duck of Depression. I drew this after a lengthy depression to wave goodbye to the black period in my life. Its a little messy but so is life so for me its perfect. My heart goes out to people who experience depression which is a common symptom of many mental health issues and causes havoc with peoples lives. Then there is the silent depression that we experience when we feel distant from life, unable to enjoy anything, quietly suffering and not knowing why life has lost its color and everything seems dull and grey. Mental health is a serious epidemic right now and I want to be a part of the solution in some way. I have been depressed repeatedly as part of my bipolar illness and have learnt to ride the waves but they still rock my life every time. I lose jobs, relationships, friends and all joy is sapped from my life. But it goes away and there is hope. If you or anyone you know is suffering help them to love themselves and find ways to cope with the myriad of hardships that depression brings. There may or may not be a way out for different people but there are ways to ease the pain and learn to live and function with it. Love to you all.
